Description
N64RGBv1 Universal RGB Board with Integrated 3.3v Voltage Regulator and Installation Service.
Borti4938’s N64RGBv1 universal RGB board offers RGB output from the AV Multi out port, as well as the Deblur function that increases the sharpness of most N64 games. It also has IGR (in game routines) functionality enabled which allows you to reset the console and manually turn deblur on and off from the controller in controller port 1 using button combinations. This version of the kit also integrates Borti’s 3.3v Voltage Regulator circuit into it’s design. The N64’s stock 3.3v rail is very noisy, with high frequency noise produced by the audio circuit and controller inputs leaking into the power rail. As a result this produces unwanted noise in the RGB video output on any board that doesn’t have a separate 3.3v power regulator installed. This version of the RGB kit eliminates this problem by integrating a dedicated 3.3v Voltage Regulator directly on board for clean power input and noise free video output.
IGR button combinations:
Turn 15bit Color off: Hold Start+Z+R+C-Down
Purchasing Options:
If you plan to install the kit yourself simply select Board Only in the drop down options. If you need a MAV-NUS adapter for your model of N64 you should also add the MAV-NUS Adapter Only option to your cart. If you wish to send your console in for installation service, please also add Optional Professional Installation to your cart and I will provide shipping instructions after checkout. If you would also like to have the capacitors replaced on your N64 motherboard, please also add the Optional Capacitor Replacement Service to your cart as well.
How this store works:
Processing time for orders is between 1 and 5 days. I assemble all of these boards by hand. When a product is listed in stock this means that I have all of the components to build the board, but it does not necessarily mean that the boards are already assembled. If I have boards ready at the time of your order then processing and shipping your item should only take 1 day. If I have to assemble one or more products in your order, processing and shipping could take up to 5 days. I appreciate your patience, I’m a one man show over here.

This mod is fantastic. Deblur is unexpectedly my favorite function. It is very different to see it at work in person, videos do not do it justice. Right now I am using SCART RGB cables to a PVM, but I can’t wait to try out component cables on a consumer TV. If you you like the RGB output of a SNES then This mod and deblur on is the way to go. Arthrimus was very responsive answering my questions about modding and repair work through e-mail before and during the process. If you are not handy with electronics do not take your chances like I did just pay a professional. I am glad to be the first review on this mod I really wish I could upload pics. If you are on the fence and reading this just know that your console is safe in his hands.

I love this mod for my N64. I mainly wanted this for the combo of the RGB and the in game reset feature which is well worth the price. However, I found out that I really like the 15bit color too as it makes everything a just a little bit brighter in my opinion. The deblur feature was nice as is smoothed and softened the pixels but didn’t feel I needed it with the RetroTink 5x inline but it did add additional smoothing. It was just too much smoothing for my taste but just another value add make this a great item to have.
The install was super easy for me with the video provided as I had all the equipment to do the job plus I had a bunch of soldering experience from working on RC drones. Just watch the video to determine if you can do it yourself or not prior to purchase.
I only had one issue during the install as I had a NUS-CPU-06 board with the MAV. The problem was my board did not have the “cntl” controller connection where the video showed. I emailed for help and got a quick answer, which I included below for others that run into the same issue. Again great product, company and support!!!
From Support:
“There are only 2 different board layouts for where the controller wire goes. If your board doesn’t have the hole pattern that I showed in the video then you solder it to pin 16 of the PIF-NUS”

This mod is great! Relatively easy to install on my NTSC V4 motherboard.
I hooked up my N64 to a GBS-C. The Deblur and console reset functions are great. The N64 has never looked cleaner.
